Welcome to Istanbul (İstanbul Cepte) is a travel guide for visitors to Istanbul. This page explains what the app does with your data.
What we collect
- Location (only while the app is open and only if you allow it): shows where you are, nearby places, stops and routes. It is sent to our server with each request so results can be sorted by distance; we do not keep a location history.
- Questions you type to the AI assistant: sent to our server and answered by an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic). Messages are not stored on our server. Chat history shown in the app stays on your phone.
- Photos for camera translation: sent to our server only to read and translate the text in them; they are not stored.
- Photos you submit for a stop: if you choose to send a photo of a stop, it is kept for review and shown to others only once approved. Metadata such as GPS is removed.
- Install identifier and purchase status: a random identifier (not linked to your name or Apple ID), your App Store country and your signed App Store transactions, used only to check whether a purchase or free trial is active.
- Crash reports: a short error message and technical details (app version, platform). They contain no personal data.
Purchases
Payments are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.
What stays on your phone
Your language, text size, visible tabs, pinned cards, saved plans, chat history and offline copies are stored only on your device. Delete them in the app's settings or by removing the app.
What we do not do
We do not require an account, do not sell data, do not show ads, and do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
Third-party data
Our server uses public data sources (OpenStreetMap, Wikipedia, İBB and İETT open data and others). Your phone talks to our server only.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Neleri topluyoruz
- Konum (yalnızca uygulama açıkken ve izin verirseniz): nerede olduğunuzu, yakındaki yerleri, durakları ve rotaları göstermek için kullanılır. Sonuçları mesafeye göre sıralamak için her istekle sunucumuza gönderilir; konum geçmişi tutmayız.
- Yapay zekâ asistanına yazdıklarınız: sunucumuza gönderilir ve bir yapay zekâ modeli (Anthropic'in Claude'u) tarafından yanıtlanır. Mesajlar sunucumuzda saklanmaz. Uygulamadaki sohbet geçmişi yalnızca telefonunuzda durur.
- Kamerayla çeviri fotoğrafları: yalnızca içindeki yazıyı okumak ve çevirmek için sunucumuza gönderilir, saklanmaz.
- Bir durak için gönderdiğiniz fotoğraflar: göndermeyi seçerseniz incelenmek üzere saklanır, onaylanınca başkalarına gösterilir. GPS gibi üst veriler silinir.
- Kurulum kimliği ve satın alma durumu: rastgele bir kimlik (adınıza veya Apple Kimliğinize bağlı değildir), App Store ülkeniz ve imzalı App Store işlemleriniz; yalnızca satın alma veya ücretsiz deneme etkin mi diye kontrol etmek için kullanılır.
- Çökme raporları: kısa bir hata mesajı ve teknik bilgi (sürüm, platform). Kişisel veri içermez.
Satın alımlar
Ödemeleri Apple işler. Ödeme bilgilerinizi hiçbir zaman görmeyiz.
Telefonunuzda kalanlar
Dil, yazı boyutu, görünen sekmeler, sabitlenen kartlar, kayıtlı planlar, sohbet geçmişi ve çevrimdışı kopyalar yalnızca cihazınızda durur. Uygulama ayarlarından veya uygulamayı silerek kaldırabilirsiniz.
Yapmadıklarımız
Hesap istemeyiz, veri satmayız, reklam göstermeyiz, üçüncü taraf analiz veya reklam SDK'sı kullanmayız.
Üçüncü taraf verileri
Sunucumuz herkese açık veri kaynaklarını kullanır (OpenStreetMap, Wikipedia, İBB ve İETT açık verileri vb.). Telefonunuz yalnızca sunucumuzla konuşur.
Çocuklar
Uygulama 13 yaş altı çocuklara yönelik değildir ve kimseden kişisel bilgi toplamaz.
